PROJECT OVERVIEW: BALTIMORE CENTER FOR GREEN CAREERS
Over the past few years, Baltimore has experienced one of the worst job markets it has had in a while. With the cities current unemployment rate at a high of 7.9 percent as of October 2011 and an increasingly important need for the city to “go green” and improve its environmental sustainability, many local organizations have sprung up in an effort to directly address these issues together. One such organization is the Baltimore Center for Green Careers, a Civic Works project created in 2010 in an effort to provide both underemployed and unemployed Baltimore citizens with the training they need in order to obtain entry level green jobs for the green careers of the future.
